Government Office and JICA sign MoU on improving business environment

The Government Office (OAG) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) held a ceremony in Hanoi on September 14 for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the implementation of a project on building professional and efficient state activities to improve the business environment.

The project aims to improve the quality and enhance the capacity of the Government Office staff to carry out integrated advisory and coordination tasks to assist the Government and the Prime Minister in the process of formulation, promulgation and the enforcement of policies and mechanisms.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien said that Japan has vastexperience and great success in building and developing e-government.

Therefore, through the project, the Government Office staff are expected to gain more knowledge and experience in the field of e-Government construction, administrative reform and business environment improvement, as well as effectively serving and assisting the Government and the PM, he added.

For his part, JICA President Shinichi Kitaoka expressed his hope that the MoU will significantly contribute to the development and establishment of e-Government in Vietnam. Through the project, the two sides will share their experience to help build e-government in both countries, he noted.

With financial support from JICA, the project will organise research delegations, study tours and experiences in Japan, as well as workshops and seminars in Vietnam with a focus on building and developing e-government and improving the business environment, he said.
