Work begins on Nam Can Bridge in Ca Mau

Nhan Dan - Construction of Nam Can Bridge under the Ho Chi Minh Trail project began on August 29 in Ca Mau province.

The bridge, 3,390 metres long, 11 metres wide and designed to handle vehicles travelling up to 80km per hour, spans the Cua Lon River, connecting Lam Hai commune in Nam Can district and Vien An Dong commune in Ngoc Hien district.

The construction is capitalised at VND650 billion sourced from Government bonds and is expected to be completed in 18 months.

Nam Can is the final bridge on the Ho Chi Minh trail route that links Mong Cai in Quang Ninh province to the cape of Ca Mau. The bridge is of significant importance to residents of Ca Mau province as well as neighbouring provinces in the southwestern region.
