The groups of products have high competitiveness, large production capacity, and high market and export potential which will contribute significantly to the city’s development.
The seven groups of products include precast metal products, electrical equipment, plastic and rubber products, processed food products, beverage products, electronic – information technology products, and apparel products.
In addition, the municipal People’s Committee also announced a group of industrial products with high potential of development, namely pharmaceutical and chemicals products which are expected to develop into strong brands in the region.
Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, Pham Thanh Kien, said that the agency will create favourable conditions for firms in terms of capital, land, human resource training, trade promotion and brand building in order to develop these groups of products.
“The seven groups of key products will be the core foundation to fuel the development of other industries while bringing about higher value added and making more economic contributions to the city,” Kien noted.
