The event was jointly organised by the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (VINASME), the Quang Ninh People’s Committee and the Quang Ninh Business Association.

The forum attracted more than 500 delegates who are representatives of government ministries and agencies, business associations of 25 provinces in northern Vietnam, enterprises and commercial banks.

Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Business Association, Dao Duy Hao, said that the number of enterprises in the province nearly doubled to 17,200 during the 2012-2017 period, thanks to Quang Ninh’s long-term strategy and careful planning formulated by leading experts.

According to Quang Ninh Vice Chairman Dang Huy Hau, Quang Ninh has invested heavily in road and air transport infrastructure, as well as improving its e-government services with modern IT infrastructure, as the key measures to attract investment.

At the forum, the papers mentioned important issues such as enhancing provincial competitiveness and business climate, the benefits of the law on support for SMEs, the role of business associations in SME support, the application of technology in enhancing competitiveness and brand recognition.

The forum was also an opportunity to introduce the strengths of Quang Ninh as an investment destination to enterprises from Northern provinces and cities.
