In its fifth year held by the Hanoi Promotion Agency (HPA), the annual fair has attracted the participation of more than 200 Vietnamese enterprises and foreign enterprises from six countries, who are displaying their distinguished products at nearly 300 pavilions.

This year's fair also includes the One Village One Product (OVOP) exhibition which is showcasing products of more than 20 craft villages in Hanoi at nearly 100 pavilions. The exhibition also sees the participation of Oita Prefecture, Japan, where the OVOP movement was initiated.

In particular, visitors will have an opportunity to observe local artisans performing the techniques of making traditional handicraft products.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hanoi municipal People's Committee Nguyen Doan Toan said that the event aimed to promote economic cooperation between Hanoi and other localities across the country while helping local specialties to participate in the supply-consumption chain in the Hanoi market and in export.

According to HPA, after four-year organisation of the fair, thousands of transactions between participating firms and distributors have been carried out and multitude of regional specialities have been brought to supermarket system in Hanoi, contributing to boosting the consumption of Vietnamese goods.

The event will run until November 25.
