Automatic feed mill inaugurated in Long An

Viet Thang Long An Feed mill, the first of its kind with automation technology in the Mekong Delta region, was put into operation at the Nhut Chanh Industrial Zone in Ben Luc district, Long An province, on November 24.

The mill covers a total area of 6.8 ha,at a total investment of US$35 million,and is capable of producing 600,000 tonnes of animal feed per year.

The mill’s advanced technology was developed by Swiss Buhler and meets European standards on food safety and other strict requirements on cross-contamination prevention, trace of origin, and others.

Chairman of Long An provincial People’s Committee, Tran Van Can, said that the inauguration of the mill is good news for local farmers due to the increasing demand for animal feed. He noted that the mill with its use of modern automated technology will help the local livestock industry to enter the international market.

The inauguration ceremony also saw the presence of former President Truong Tan Sang and former Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong.
