The two-phase DITP project is being implemented on an area of 341 hectares at a total cost of over US$120 million.
The US$47 million first phase, which covers 131 hectares, has already finalised infrastructure construction and is now ready to serve investors. Meanwhile, the second phase, covering 210 hectares with an investment capital of US$74 million is due to be implemented in 2019.
DITP is situated in a favourable position ensuring traffic to the centre of Da Nang, airports and seaports, as well as easy access to educational and medical establishments and tourist attractions. Furthermore, DITP’s location creates links between economic zones, high-tech zones, the Golden Hills urban areas and other industrial zones, thus helping to form an economic corridor to Lien Chieu deep-water port in service of international trade.
DITP will provide services for IT companies, IT services and software development, including land with synchronised and high-class infrastructure, pre-built buildings and offices for lease.
Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam emphasised the extremely crucial role played by the IT sector in socio-economic development.
With Vietnam’s current shortage of software personnel, the inauguration of centralised software zones, such as DITP, will facilitate the attraction of high-quality human resources, from both at home and abroad, to the country, he said.

The deputy PM affirmed that the Government encourages and will create the most favourable conditions to accelerate the attraction of investment into Da Nang in particular and into Vietnam as a whole.
He expressed his hopes that, in the future, Da Nang will have many new projects, especially regional and global-level projects in the IT industry, thereby contributing to connecting Vietnam with the world and promoting socio-economic development towards sustainability
Nguyen Tam Thinh, Chairman of the Da Nang IT Development Joint Stock Company, said that with the goal of gaining US$1.5 billion in revenue per year and the capability of recruiting 25,000 employees, DITP is expected to become one of Asia’s best IT development communities in Da Nang following the Silicon Valley model of the United States. The project will contribute to attracting domestic and foreign scientists, engineers and technology experts, while encouraging the training of high-tech industries at universities.
On the occasion, the organisers also broke ground on the construction of a cluster of key works including an office-showroom complex, an exhibition centre and other focal facilities on a total area of more than 87,000 square metres.
