Regional trade fair highlights products of Northwest provinces

The International Trade Fair of the Northwest Region opened in Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province, on March 30, by the People’s Committee of Dien Bien province in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The regional-scale fair has attracted more than 110 domestic and foreign enterprises and organisations, who are introducing their achievements, products and business opportunities at more than 280 pavilions.

Of which, 28 pavilions are showcasing the socio-economic achievements and products of localities, sectors and departments in Dien Bien province,60 pavilions are displaying the achievements and economic and tourism potential of 19 provinces and cities in the Northwest region and other regions,18 pavilions are boasting the products of enterprises from Yunnan province in China and six provinces of North Laos, while 164 pavilions are introducing products of domestic enterprises across Vietnam and 12 pavilions are presenting the culture and cuisine of Dien Bien and the Northwest region.

Commercial products on display are diverse and high quality including mechanical products, industrial and agricultural machinery, electrical and electronic products, consumer goods and household appliances, handicrafts, agricultural-forestry and fishery products, processed food, apparel products, cuisine and tourism products, among others.

Vice Chairman of Dien Bien provincial People’s Committee Le Van Quy praised the enterprises and organisations for participating in the fair, thereby contributing to the success of the fair.

He affirmed that Dien Bien province always welcomes and creates favourable conditions for firms and investors to promote their products, to seek business opportunities and invest in the province.

The week-long event is expected to boost the image of the land, people and local products of Dien Bien to visitors and enterprises, and call for investment in the locality.

The trade fair is part of the National Trade Promotion Programme and an activity to mark the 65th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and 110th founding anniversary of Dien Bien province.
