Bicycle parade honours Vietnamese national brands

A cycling parade was held by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) and the relevant agencies in Hanoi on April 20, aiming to increase awareness of national Vietnamese brands and advertise Vietnamese businesses with Vietnam-branded products to both the domestic and foreign social communities.

The parade, featuring nearly 300 bicycles, saw the participation of many enterprises, the majority of whom are those with products having been granted a national brand, such as Hanoi Trade Corporation (Hapro), Nha Be Garment Corporation and Garment 10 Corporation.

In his opening remarks, Vu Ba Phu, director of Vietrade, emphasised that the event is part of the programmes under the 2019 National Brand Week and holds special significance in promoting the Vietnam National Brand Programme (Vietnam Value), approved by the Prime Minister in 2003.

The parade serves as a source of encouragement to enterprises whose products have been granted with the national brand for representing the pillar values of quality, innovation and pioneering capacity, thus creating a spillover effect and motivating the business community to move towards the values of the Vietnam National Brand Programme, while advertising the image of national brands and encouraging consumers and businesses to use Vietnamese products, he said.

Phu added that, through the cycling parade, Vietrade would like to inspire the spirit of determination within each business in order to promote and develop trademarks in an effective and sustainable fashion.

In an effort to honour and advertise Vietnam’s brands and image in international economic integration, April 20 has been chosen as the Vietnamese Brands Day.
