The statement was made by Sanjay Gupta, Executive Vice President and Strategic Director of Indian group HCL, during his meeting with Vice Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee, Tran Vinh Tuyen, in the city on May 17.
Through its research of Vietnam’s macro-elements as well as the reality in HCM City, HCL evaluated that the southern Vietnamese city possesses all favourable conditions for the implementation of its IT centre development project, the guest said.
He stressed his firm’s belief that the IT labour forces in Vietnam would fully meet the requirements concerning the IT manpower quality, which, he said, plays the most important role in the success of the IT service sector.
Gupta revealed that a report on the plan to invest in constructing an IT centre in HCM City will be submitted to HCL’s senior leaders for comments, adding that, if approved, the plan will be implemented immediately in the fourth quarter of 2019.
For his part, Tuyen affirmed that the Indian group’s development strategies match with HCM City’s potential and interest at present, as well as its development roadmap for the future.
The city pledges to fully implement preferential policies applied to foreign investors, especially those operating in the field of IT, he said.
HCL has more than 40 years of experience in the IT sector with a team of 140,000 workers in 44 countries around the world.
