This year’s festival boasts 30 pavilions showcasing Thanh Ha lychees in addition to various other types of farm produce and tourism products of Thanh Ha district.

The event offered an opportunity for local lychee farmers and producers to meet with marketing experts and distributors in order to build a chain in agricultural production.

Secretary of Thanh Ha district Party Committee Nguyen Duc Tuan said that Thanh Ha has favourable natural conditions to grow fruits, particularly lychees, which have become a specialty fruit with production being duplicated in many localities across the country.

Thanh Ha district has nearly 3,800ha of lychees in 2019 which is estimated to produce 18,000 tonnes of lychees, including 16,000 tonnes of early maturing fruit and 2,000 tonnes of fruit of the main crops.

Due to low productivity in this season, lychees are being sold at high prices and the consumption of lychees is smooth.

Thanh Ha lychees will be exported to the UK, Russia, Germany, France, the Republic of Korea and Indonesia as well as domestic and Chinese markets.

On the occasion, the Hai Duong’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development granted the VietGAP certificate to Thanh Binh commune in Thanh Ha district to certify that its lychee growing areas meet VietGAP standards.
