Agro-forestry and fishery exports up 2.1% in first six months

The total export value of the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector in the first six months of this year was estimated at US$19.75 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.1%.

The information was released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The total volume of fishery products stood at an estimated 3.8 million tonnes, up 6.2% year on year.

Accordingly, the exploited and cultivated products were 1.88 million tonnes and 1.92 million tonnes, respectively.

The total value of the agricultural sector in the first six months rose by 1.68% over the same period last year.

In addition, forestry and fisheries witnessed annual growth of 4.53% and 6.5% in value, respectively.
