The MoU was signed at the working session between the two officials in Rome, which took place as part of the Vietnamese Minister’s working visit to Europe in a bid to promote economic cooperation between Vietnam and Italy and other European countries.

Minister Anh recalled the positive results reached between Vietnam and Italy during Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte’s visit to Vietnam in early June.

He noted that such results will be the basis for ministries including the Ministry of Industry and Trade to continue to carry out activities to foster bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

Anh voiced expectations that the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) will create positive effects for both countries.

At the working session, Minister Tran Tuan Anh and Deputy Minister Andrea Cioffi signed an MoU on energy cooperation, which is anticipated to bring about benefits for both sides.

The two sides agreed to immediately implement the MoUas well as to study the cooperation in other areas that were reached during the Italian PM’s visit to Vietnam.

On the afternoon of the same day, Minister Tran Tuan Anh held a working session with Confindustria, the main association representing manufacturing and service companies in Italy, in order to boost bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
