According to the trade mission, Eden Agro Food Sarl, headquartered at 19, No. 36, Hay Maamora in the Moroccan city of Kenitra, has recently showed signs of dishonesty in import transactions, proposing many demands for the exporting side and seeking every way to evade its payment responsibilities under the signed contract.
At the same time, the company has also colluded with a branch bank to evade its payment obligations.
The Vietnamese trade mission to Morocco reported that a Vietnamese business recently got into trouble when selling coconut rice to Eden Agro Food Sarl, as the firm refused to take the cargo when it arrived at the Moroccan port.
However, by taking different measures, the Vietnamese Embassy’s trade mission persuaded the company to take the goods and pay half of the value.
As agreed by the two sides, the remaining money was deposited at a local bank to be collected later. Nonetheless, Eden Agro Food Sarl continued to find ways to cause trouble and showed signs of colluding with the branch bank to evade its payment obligations, going contrary to international trading practices.
Considering it a serious case, the trade mission at the Vietnamese Embassy in Morocco recommended Vietnam’s industry associations and export firms should not conduct any transactions with the Eden Agro Food Sarl company in order to avoid unexpected losses.
