Deputy PM urges major power projects to be completed on schedule

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has asked the national electricity utility EVN, its transmission arm EVNNPT and relevant units to complete a branch line of the 500kV transmission line on schedule.

He made the request on September 13 while attending a ceremony in the central province of Quang Binh to launch an emulation programme between the sub-projects of the 500kV transmission line circuit 3 project.

They include the Quang Trach-Vung Ang Line and the 500kV switchgear of the Quang Trach Power Centre, the Quang Trach-Doc Soi Line and the Doc Soi-Pleiku 2 Line.

Construction of the project kicked off in late 2018 at a total cost of nearly VND12 trillion (US$516 million).

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy PM Dung praised the local authorities for their efforts in site clearance and thanked the local residents who had to relocate to give land for the project.

He asked EVN, EVNNPT and other units to make their efforts to ensure the project is complete on schedule and to a high standard.

Earlier the Deputy PM visited the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap, presented gifts to local schoolchildren and wounded war veterans. Also on the same day, Deputy PM Dung visited and worked with the police force of Quang Binh province.
