Gia Lai province urged to further improve business climate

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue has asked the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai to continue to improve the business environment and create all favourable conditions to attract investment.

He made the request at a meeting with Gia Lai leaders on September 17, on the province’s socio-economic development, new rural construction and measures to boost the performance of local forestry companies.

At the meeting, provincial leaders voiced the difficulties facing Gia Lai and asked that the central government support the province to implement several pressing projects.

In his concluding remarks, Deputy PM Hue noted that Gia Lai needs to bring into play its strengths in agriculture, and to promote ecotourism aligned with traditional culture protection.

He also requested the province to accelerate the re-organisation of forestry companies and the resolution of related issues.

Concerning Gia Lai province’s proposals, Deputy PM Hue asked the ministries concerned to study and advise the government to revise the policy and deal with issues under their authority.

Earlier, the Deputy PM had a working session with the Ministry of Defence’s 15th Army Corps and 16th Army Corps, and the 5th Military Region’s Coffee Company 15 on a scheme to enhance the performance of military economic units in the Central Highlands.
