The shows are jointly organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Trade Fair & Advertising Company, Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co. Ltd, and the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of HCMC (HAWA).

VietnamWood 2019 attracts the participation of nearly 500 units and brands from 32 countries and territories showcasing many new wood processing technologies on an exhibition space of 25,000 square metres.

Notably, the exhibition sees the attendance of the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), Germany’s Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA) and many manufacturers from France, China, Austria and Canada.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, HAWA Chairman Nguyen Quoc Khanh informed that Vietnam exported US$6.66 billion worth of timber and timber products in the first eight months of 2019.

He added that Vietnam aims to become a wood manufacturing hub of the world with export revenues of US$20 billion by 2025.

Khanh said that in a market that is becoming more demanding, it is necessary to apply technology to production and processing in order to enhance quality, control progress, reduce reliance on human labour and quickly meet customers’ demand.

Therefore VietnamWood 2019 and Furnitec 2019 are truly the platform for Vietnamese wood manufacturing and processing companies to stay up to date and outline appropriate technological investment strategies.

The trade fairs are also an occasion for domestic and foreign companies to increase cooperation, promote trade and develop their brands for the comprehensive growth of the wood processing industry.

In addition to the showcase of equipment and technologies, the organisers will also hold various workshops to share industrial knowledge and experience with the participation of many Vietnamese and foreign experts.

VietnamWood 2019 and Furnitec 2019 will last until September 21.
