The fourth Week of Vietnamese Goods in Thailand, themed ‘Taste of Vietnam’, officially opened in the capital city of Bangkok on September 18.

The event attracted a large number of visitors.
The event attracted a large number of visitors.

The annual event was launched in 2016 under the cooperation between Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and Central Group, aiming to promote Vietnam’s products as well as help the domestic suppliers seek more export opportunities to the Thai market.

This year’s event featured the participation of 45 Vietnamese enterprises, showcasing their special products in five major areas: noodles; tea and coffee; snacks; fresh fruits; and spices. In particular, ‘pho’ (noodle soup) – the pride of Vietnamese traditional cuisine, will be cooked directly at the event to serve to visitors.

In addition, several enterprises in non-food industries introduced their products, such as handicrafts, silks and Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress).

A business connection workshop will be held within the framework of the Week, creating conditions for nearly 80 Vietnamese enterprises to meet and exchange with the purchasing units of the retail system of Central Group and Thai importers.

On the occasion, performances highlighting Vietnamese culture will also be given by artists from the Vietnam Contemporary Art Theatre, along with a show of traditional Ao Dai.

Notably, pavilions of Vietnamese products that were successfully exported to Thailand will be arranged at ten Tops supermarkets of the Central Group in Bangkok.

The Week of Vietnamese Goods in Thailand will run until September 22.
