Covering a floor area of 22,700 square metres, with more than two thirds dedicated to shopping areas, the three-storey Aeon Mall Ha Dong formally opened its door to consumers on December 5.

The mall hosts 221 business units for food, fashion, household goods and entertainment. Parts of the mall were already open to the public on November 26.

Speaking at the opening of Aeon Mall Ha Dong, Hanoi Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung praised the Japanese group for its business as well as social activities in Vietnam, expressing his belief that it will continue to reap further success.

Currently 80% of goods for sale at Aeon are made in Vietnam and more than 2,600 local producers have become suppliers for Aeon’s shopping mall network.

The first Aeon Mall in Hanoi is located in Long Bien district and opened in 2015. In addition to two shopping malls in the capital city, the Japanese group is operating three others in Binh Duong province and Ho Chi Minh City.

Another Aeon shopping mall is also under construction in the port city of Hai Phong.
