Hanoi calls for investment from RoK enterprises

Hanoi wishes to attract investment from areas that enterprises from the Republic of Korea (RoK) have strengths in, including urban technical infrastructure, smart urban area, and water supply and drainage infrastructure.

The statement was made by Chairman of Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung at an investment promotion forum with RoK enterprises held in Hanoi on December 6.

Chung noted that Hanoi also wished to receive RoK investment in the areas of information technology services, biotechnology, tourism, education and training, health – healthcare, logistics, and finance.

The city will create the best conditions to support RoK investors and consider the success of investors as the success of the city, Chung added.

RoK is the largest foreign investor in Hanoi in terms of number of projects with 2,010 valid projects and the third largest investor in terms of investment capital with total registered capital of over US$5.5 billion.

RoK investors have poured US$1.25 billion in 351 new projects in Hanoi in 2019.

Director of Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Manh Quyen said that Hanoi now has the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park with an area of 1,586ha, 17 industrial zones with a combined area of 2,965ha, 159 industrial complexes with a total area of 3,204 ha and others to receive foreign investment.
