The forum was attended by Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh, who is Head of the Central Steering Committee of Campaign “Private enterprises contribute ideas to complete mechanisms and policies on economic development”.

Speaking at the forum, Politburo member Nguyen Van Binh emphasised that the handicraft villages play a great role in economic, social and cultural life. In recent times, along with the Party and State policies on supporting and encouraging economic development of craft villages, the craft villages have actively implemented many measures to reorganise production and business, and to apply new technology. At present, many trade villages and rural industries are still small-scale, therefore the associations should promote their role to help members to catch up with the new policy to properly use and develop from it.

He also asked the authorities to pay more attention to the craft villages and rural industries, ensuring sustainable development with specific support policies. In order to have appropriate mechanisms and policies, it is necessary to clearly distinguish the category of traditional craft villages and rural industries, avoiding confusion leading to inadequacies in practical implementation.

The opinions of businesses, entrepreneurs, ministries, and sectors at the forum will be absorbed and synthesized by the Central Committee of Economic Affairs, thus providing reports and advice to help the Party and the State create new and appropriate policy.

Representatives of businesses, experts and managers should continue to actively propose many specific solutions and recommendations to solve difficulties and create conditions for the development of craft villages, Politburo member Binh said.

On the same day, Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh and Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man attended the inauguration ceremony of the 220 - 500 kV Power Transformer Manufacturing Factory, invested by Hanaka.

The project with a capacity of 450 MVA has been implemented since 2009 with a total investment of VND1,081 billion, applying advanced technology lines from Germany, Italy and Japan. It is expected that once put into operation, the plant will provide 110 kV, 220 kV and 500 kV transformers for nuclear, wind, hydroelectric and thermal power plants, solar power supply plants, and intelligent power, contributing to ensuring national energy security.
