The meeting was chaired by the group’s head, Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, who reaffirmed the viewpoints of the Government and the PM to always pay special attention to institutional buildings, urging relevant ministries and agencies to issue documents detailing the reduction and simplification of business requirements and administrative procedures.

Minister-Chairman Dung said that the Prime Minister will set up a special working group to devise measures to cut down regulations that are considered barriers to production and business activities, and will prevent the arising of new regulations that increase costs for enterprises.

The Government will report to the National Assembly for amendments of 25 overlapping points in the legal documents that the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has recently pointed out.

In particular, strong reform should be made regarding regulations on specialised inspection of import and export goods.

Also, according to Minister-Chairman Mai Tien Dung, it is necessary to restrict the issuance of circulars and proceed to issue decrees without circulars.
