A survey conducted by the German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam) in January 2020 and released on February 27 showed that Asian market, especially the Vietnamese market, received much attention from healthcare German enterprises including leading enterprises as well as small and medium-sized enterprises in the field.

66% of surveyed enterprises expressed their interest in doing business in Vietnam after the EVFTA officially takes effect.

The strategies German enterprises choose to approach the Vietnamese market are using established and reputable brands and cooperating with local partners in Vietnam.

However, they also pointed out several difficulties in doing business in Vietnam including the lack of information, cultural differences, and seeking out suitable domestic partners.

Germany is currently the most important trade partner of Vietnam in the EU and is the second largest exporter of medical equipment to Vietnam after the US.
