Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that since early 2020, the world has suffered greatly from the COVID-19 pandemic but this is also a special time when the country has witnessed the vigorous vitality of Vietnamese goods and the extremely important role of the domestic market in the economy.

He noted that this year’s programme will have many new features including more experience activities and direct interaction between consumers, products and services and between producers, distributors, and management agencies.

The annual programme is to be implemented on a national scale with the aim of fostering the development of the domestic market and the use of Vietnamese goods.

It is also one of the four key activities of the project managed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to stimulate domestic consumption and support enterprises from July 1 to December 31, 2020.

Until the end of this year, many supermarket chains and shops will respond to the “Vietnamese Goods Week” programme to offer huge promotions and discounts on Vietnamese goods while prioritising the display of Vietnamese goods at convenient locations in the aisle.
