The coal berth measures 300m in length and 34m in width which can accommodate vessels with a capacity of 100,000 DWT.

The coal berth is expected to handle 7.2 million tonnes of coal per year to serve the operation of Quang Trach thermal power plants No.1 and No.2.

The breakwater includes two sections with a total length of 1,270km.

The construction project will take place in the form of an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract which is of great importance to ensuring the progress of the Quang Trach Power Centre.

The project is scheduled for completion in late 2022 to provide coal for the operation of Quang Trach thermal power plant No.1 in 2024.

The Quang Trach Power Centre includes Quang Trach thermal power plants No.1 and No.2 with a total capacity of 2,400MW which will play a crucial role in supplying power and ensuring energy security in Quang Binh province and the nation in general.
