Speaking at the conference, Hanoi Party Secretary Vuong Dinh Hue stated it is necessary to promote research and development in logistics and tap into digital transformation to manage the flow of goods more effectively.

Hue underlined the importance of building a network to connect logistics companies and developing new logistics solutions that are fuel-efficient and less environmentally damaging such as using renewable energy and environmentally friendly vehicles.

For his part, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung added that if Vietnam can increase the quality and lower the costs of logistical services, enterprises can save and increase the competitiveness of their products.

He said Vietnam is aiming to reduce logistical costs to 16-20% of GDP in the coming years and rank above 50th on the logistics performance index.

In order to achieve such goals, the Deputy PM urged the concerned ministries and authorities to promptly deal with previous proposals from logistics firms and eliminate unnecessary procedures.

Dung also called on logistics companies to proactively reform their operations and cooperate with foreign partners in order to enhance the quality of their services.
