Intel Corporation pours additional US$475 million into Vietnam

The US-based Intel Corporation received a certificate to invest additional US$475 million in Intel Products Vietnam, an assembly and test manufacturing (ATM) unit in Ho Chi Minh City, also Intel’s largest ATM plant in the world.

The additional investment will help Intel increase production of 5G products, Intel Core processors with Intel Hybrid technology and the 10th generation Intel Core processors.

Thus, the total Intel investment in its plant at the Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) in Ho Chi Minh City has risen to over US$1.5 billion, becoming the largest investment pledge to SHTP and also the largest hi-tech investment from the US in Vietnam.

Intel Products Vietnam reached more than 2 billion customers worldwide by the end of 2020.

Head of the SHTP Management Board Nguyen Anh Thisaid everyone highly values Intel Vietnam's decision to expand its investment despite global difficulties due to theCOVID-19 pandemic and its serious impact on almost all domestic and FDI enterprises.

“Intel's increase in capital means a lot to Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in general and SHTP's Management Board in particular. This also shows their confidence in the domestic workforce as well as the stable investment environment in Vietnam,” Thi stressed.
