Nhan Dan Newspaper - a trusted companion of the business community

Despite being a political newspaper, Nhan Dan’s coverage is also close to real life and it has become a companion of the business community, including those in the property sector, according to Le Hoang Chau, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Real Estate Association (HOREA).

Over the years, the newspaper has carried extensive reports on breakthroughs in the legal system building a transparent, open and fair business environment.

One notable example is the legal section published weekly in the daily print edition as a forum for experts, people, associations and enterprises to exchange opinions and propose solutions. The newspaper also has special pages on Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, which report on good models to be replicated and promote the spirit of emulation.

The newspaper’s coverage has made effective contributions to the operations of the National Assembly and the Government for many years, especially in 2020 when Vietnam had to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic, while the National Assembly adopted many legal documents such as revisions to laws related to Investment, Construction, Housing, Property, Public-Private Partnerships, Enterprises and Environmental Protection. The Government also promulgated many resolutions and decrees, notably a decree on the implementation of the Land Law.

Such legal documents have helped remove many obstacles and will improve the supply of housing projects and products in the near future. On the basis of new legal documents, the Ho Chi Minh City government has simplified the administrative procedures for housing projects, cutting handling times from around three years to less than a year.

From HOREA’s viewpoint, the joint efforts of all sectors, associations, experts, media agencies, in particular Nhan Dan Newspaper with its coverage closely following current issues, have helped create a transparent, open and healthy business environment.

Despite these initial achievements, we all need to continue striving to promote further growth, creating the conditions necessary to develop affordable housing to meet the needs of people with low and middle income in urban areas.

On the 70th anniversary of the first issue of Nhan Dan, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the newspaper for accompanying and supporting HOREA over these past years. The association expects Nhan Dan to continue both being the voice of the Party, State and people, whilst accompanying the business community, including property enterprises, in order to successfully realise the resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, helping make Vietnam a developing country with modern industry, surpassing the lower middle income level by 2025, and a developed, high-income country by 2045.
