This is the first solar power plant inaugurated and connected to the national grid in the Mekong Delta region.

The plant covers a total area of 33ha in the Hoa An and Long Binh communes in Phung Hiep district and in Vinh Tuong ward in Long My town.

The 35MWp plant is expected to generate 50,000MWh of electricity and earn VND80 billion in revenue per year.

The construction of the plant was commenced in June 2020 with a total investment of VND700 billion.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Halcom Vietnam Nguyen Quang Huan said the power project is just the beginning of Halcom’s long-term and sustainable investment plan for Hau Giang. He noted the People’s Committee of Hau Giang province has approved the expansion of the Hau Giang solar power plant with a capacity of 40MWp.

This project marks the success of Halcom Vietnam in creating clean energy sources with the goal of reaching a total capacity of 300-500 MW of renewable energy by 2025, Huan said.
