Statistical sector urged to enhance quality of macroeconomic forecasting

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai has asked the statistical sector to continue enhancing the quality of its data, especially in its analysis and forecasting of the macroeconomic situation.

The request was made at a ceremony held on May 6 to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the statistical sector.

He also called for the formation of a database to serve the needs of the Party, National Assembly, Government, ministries, agencies and local authorities as well as other domestic and foreign parties.

At the same time, the statistical sector needs to formulate up-to-date and in-depth socio-economic development scenarios to aid the Government in its macroeconomic governance, said Deputy PM Khai.

In his speech, the Deputy PM also asked the sector to continue renovating its statistical methods, enhance the capacity of statisticians and provide data in line with international practice.

On the occasion, Khai extended his congratulations on the achievements of the generations of leaders, officials and workers of the statistical sector over the past 75 years.

At the ceremony, the Deputy PM handed the Labour Order, first class, to the statistical sector in recognition of its significant contributions to the nation.
