The request was made at a meeting between the municipal government and the business community on June 10.

Currently businesses in the city are facing numerous difficulties such as disruptions to supply chains, rising production and transport costs while the market is depressed.

Some enterprises have not secured any orders for months, especially in the plastics and mechanical industries.

The most worrying issue to businesses at present is the risk of Covid-19 spreading to workers at factories and production facilities.

Therefore, they suggested that the city should support them in providing Covid-19 vaccines to their employees as well as work closely with neighbouring provinces to avoid applying unexpected quarantine measures to those arriving from Ho Chi Minh City.

Businesses also called for banks to extend debt payments and grant new loans in order to help enterprises step up their production when the market recovers.
