Theory and criticism of literature and arts to be enhanced

Members of the Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts Council needs to continue to uphold their management and professional experience while providing practical consultation on culture, theory and criticism of literature and arts to the Party and State.

The statement was made by Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia at a working session with the Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts Council in Hanoi on August 20, which aimed to review the achievements from past years and devise tasks for the coming time.

He also asked the council to promote their responsibility in fighting against wrong and deviant views as well as protect the ideological foundation and artistic guidelines of the Party.

The council should focus on uniting and mobilising the strength of artists and writers while paying great attention to training and fostering human resources for theorists and critics, added Nghia.

He also urged the council to enhance international cooperation in the context of integration and attract the participation of many experts, scientists, managers and artists in the work of theory and criticism.

The council was also required to grasp and review the reality the situation in order to propose effective solutions in implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and other important documents on culture, literature and arts.
