"Uncle Ho and Quoc Hoc Hue School's tradition" memorial house inaugurated

On the occasion of Vietnam’s Cultural Heritage Day (November 23), on November 22, the Ho Chi Minh Museum in collaboration with Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted, organised a ceremony to inaugurate the renovation work of "Uncle Ho and Quoc Hoc Hue School's tradition" memorial house.

This is a practical activity to celebrate the recognition of the system of monuments commemorating President Ho Chi Minh in Thua Thien Hue as the Special National Monument.

Quoc Hoc Hue School is a school with a long tradition of cultural history and is one of the top high schools in the country in terms of training scale and architectural space. After 125 years of establishment and development, the tradition of studiousness, respect for teachers, and friendship between teachers and students have been preserved and promoted to a great extent. Many generations of students have grown up from this place and spread to different parts of the country, many have become leaders of both the Party and State, famous people in many fields, including the excellent student Nguyen Tat Thanh, who later became President Ho Chi Minh, the beloved leader of the Vietnamese nation, an outstanding cultural celebrity and a great friend of the working people throughout the world.

With special cultural and historical values, Quoc Hoc Hue School was recognised by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) as a national cultural and historical relic on March 26, 1990. The site was recognising as a special national-level relic under the Prime Minister's Decision dated December 31, 2020.

Over the years, the memorial house of Uncle Ho and the Quoc Hoc Hue school's tradition have become a place to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh; a place to educate historical values, traditional culture, patriotism, national self-respect, studiousness, respect for teachers; preserving the proud achievements in learning and training of the school and becoming the place of return for generations of Quoc Hoc Hue students past and present.

The memorial house, after the adjustment, was added with updated documents and photos; conveying information in museum format, with new display solutions, leading viewers with easy-to-understand and memorable stories, actively contributing to promoting the value of Quoc Hoc Hue school's historical relic, worthy of special national-level relic status.
