The organising board also awarded medals to outstanding actors and actresses, scriptwriters, directors, stage designers and musicians.

According to People’s Artist, Director Tran Minh Ngoc, who is Chairman of the festival’s art council, the event showed great effort of participating art troupes in nurturing their love and passion for the stage, despite tremendous challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also hailed that in addition to plays on historical themes, this year’s festival also introduced plays highlighting the lives of disadvantaged people, who are willing to share helping hands to assist others, regardless of their difficult situation.

Co-organised by the Ho Chi Minh municipal Department of Culture and Sports, and the Department of Performing Arts, the festival gathered 20 art troupes, who brought 26 plays to the stage.

The event aimed to provide a venue for participating actors and actresses to exchange experiences and contribute to improving the quality of Vietnamese drama.
