Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Association Nguyen Quang Thieu reviewed the 65-year journey since the association's establishment and development.

Starting with 278 members, the association now boasts more than 1,000 members, he reported, adding that generations of Vietnamese writers have always worked to contribute to national development.

Many of them laid down their lives during wartime for the country’s struggle for national independence and freedom, he stated.

In today’s modern life, Vietnamese writers have promoted their works to international friends and won propitious prizes abroad, thus contributing to advertising the land and people of Vietnam to the world.

Delegates at the event discussed ways to encourage writers to produce more high-quality works and facilitate the association’s stronger development.
