Restored President Ho Chi Minh Temple inaugurated in Bac Lieu

Nhan Dan – The President Ho Chi Minh Temple was inaugurated in Chau Thoi commune, Vinh Loi district, in the southern province of Bac Lieu on June 5, after three years of restoration.

On the occasion, Party General Secretary and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong; Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; and Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Organisation Commission, To Huy Rua, sent baskets of flowers as tributes to President Ho Chi Minh.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Politburo member, Minister and Head of the Government Office Nguyen Xuan Phuc, along with leaders of ministries, sectors and the locality.

The temple complex is situated 18 kilometres from the centre of the province near the Ba Chang River and covers an area of 6,000 square metres. It includes an exhibition room displaying over 300 documents, photos and artifacts related to the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh as well as a screening hall to show documentary films about the construction and protection of the temple by the people of Chau Thoi commune.

The Temple is also a venue for local people to organise significant events related to the Party and the country, as well as cultural events for the youth.

The temple was recognised as a national historical site in 1998 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
