The two-day festival attracted over 400 members of local ethnic minorities such as the Pa Co, Pa Hy, Ka Tu and Ta Oi from Nam Dong, A Luoi, Huong Tra and Phong Dien communes, as well as artists and athletes from the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Border Guard High Command.
The event featured many activities including folk music and dances, a display of traditional costumes of ethnic minorities from the Thua Thien-Hue mountainous areas, and musical performances praising the Party, Uncle Ho, and the homeland. There were also sporting events and traditional games such as a marathon race, volleyball, tug of war, stick pushing and crossbow shooting.
The festival was jointly organised by the People’s Committees of Nam Dong and A Luoi districts and the provincial Department of Culture and Information, Mountainous Ethnic Minorities and Border Military.
