Nearly 960 artists from 17 domestic and four foreign troupes are scheduled to stage 221 performances which will vie for gold and silver medals.
Co-hosted by the department, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the International Co-operation Department, the Vietnam Dancers’ Association and the Vietnam Composers’ Association, the event is meant to foster friendship and co-operation among ASEAN member states, giving Vietnam an opportunity to popularise its art, land and people to neighboring countries.
The festival is a continuation of the past events successfully held in Quang Tri, including the Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam art festival, “Trans-Asia road” and Indochinese music festivals.
The five best performances will be chosen for public shows to be held in the province during the festival.
