As the initial activity of a series of programmes held at the Hanoi Book Street this year, the event is expected to popularise the book street as a cultural destination for both Hanoians and visitors.
In addition to the permanent stalls on the street, several publishing houses will show off their catalogue of books in different categories, including children’s books, books on literature, economics, science and technology, foreign books, and e-books.
The book street will also feature pavilions of spring newspapers from various press agencies and some works of calligraphy.
Numerous activities, including the introduction of new publications as well as an exchange with writers, poets, and researchers, will also be held during the programme.
In addition, visitors to the book street will have a chance to join folk games and enjoy street art performances over the first days of the Lunar New Year.
The event will contribute to honouring people’s studiousness as well as the culture of reading among Vietnamese people.
