It is the fourth time that the Da Nang-born artist has been named ‘Singer of the Year’, following her victories in 2009, 2013 and 2015.

Her album ‘Tam 9’, a collection of 12 songs, sold nearly 20,000 copies in only a couple of weeks after being released in December 2017.

Duong Cam, a 31-year-old song-writer from Hanoi, won a double victory at this year’s awards by earning the ‘Producer of the Year’ and ‘Musician of the Year’ titles.

Ngot (Sweet), a rising Indie band, surprisingly overcame other strong nominees to win the ‘Best New Artist’ and ‘Song of the Year’ awards for their ballad ‘Em Dao Nay’, which is centred around the reflections of a young man about his ex-girl friend’s life after their break-up.

Winners of the ‘Best Music Programme Series’, ‘Best Programme’, and ‘Best Music Video’ were also honoured at the ceremony.

The annual Dedication Music Awards, hosted by the Sports and Culture Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency), honours outstanding Vietnamese artists for their musical achievements and positive contributions to the country’s music industry during the year.

The winners are selected after voting by prestigious reporters and journalists who specialise in music and culture columns.
