The information was released at a ceremony held by the Russian Science and Culture, under the Russian Embassy, in Hanoi on March 23, to introduce several Russian literary books.

The books introduced at the event included ‘Fairy tales’ by great writer Puskin, the novel titled ‘Urgum River’ by writer V.YA.Shishkov; and a collection of poems by S.A. Esenin, A.A. Akhmatova, and M.I. Svetaeva.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Vietnam Vadim Vladimirovich Bublikov emphasised that with the hard-work and professionalism of Vietnamese translators, over 30 classical Russian literary book titles have been translated into Vietnamese since 2012.

The Russian literary works that have been introduced to Vietnamese readers have contributed to enhancing the links in culture and languages between the two peoples, he added.

Director of Russian Science and Culture Centre Natalia Valerievna Shafinskaya said that the opening of free access to the e-book funds for Vietnamese readers at the centre would create favourable conditions for them to learn formal information about Russia.

On the occasion, Vietnamese translator Nguyen Thuy Anh, who has been honoured with the annual Russian award for literature translation, exchanged with readers, talking about Russian works for children translated by her.
