The festival was organised by the HCM City Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO) and the Vietnam-France Friendship Association’s chapter in the city (HVFFA). It was attended by representatives from HUFO and the French Consulate General in HCM city, along with members of the HVFFA and some of the city’s many students.

The annual festival started in France in 1982, initiated by then French Minister of Culture, Jake Lang.

Speaking at the event, HVFFA President Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung said the French music festival has been held in more than 120 countries worldwide, including Vietnam, as the country is a member of the International Organisation of the Francophonie.

It is one of the cultural exchange activities aiming to deepen ties between the people of the two nations, she added.

The festival featured performances in various genres, including rock, pop, rap, jazz and classical music.
