NDO – Vietnamese artist, Nguyen Thu Thuy, was presented with the silver trophy of the A’ Design Award & Competition for her ceramic mosaic mirror house project at an awards ceremony held in Como, Italy, on June 29.

Thuy’s project, which was among more than 1,960 nominations from nearly 100 countries in 99 different design disciplines, won 94 out of 100 points in the category of Public Arts Design for Society and Environment.

Under her project, Thuy worked with her colleagues from the New Hanoi Art Company to renovate and redecorate the old Mirror House at Hanoi’s Thong Nhat (Reunion) Park with colourful, ceramic, mosaic murals.

Designed in the shape of a huge snail shell, fifty mirrors have been installed along a maze providing interesting and unusual distorted shapes, bringing delight to all visitors.
