Dubbed “Enjoying Independence Day”, the highlight of the programme will be a festive market on Dong Van Plateau in the northern province of Ha Giang, where people will exchange goods, meet friends, dance and sing.
A photo exhibition featuring 60 photos of the landscapes and the life of people on the karst plateau will be on show together with a pair of large 7m long flutes made by Mong people from Ha Giang province.
At the market, visitors can taste Ha Giang delicacies like thang co (horse meat soup), men men (corn cake), corn wine and dried buffalo, while enjoying traditional handicrafts like embroidery weaving, bamboo instruments, batik and folk games.
A Mong flute festival will also be held to celebrate the group’s culture.
A traditional boat festival from the northern province of Phu Tho will be held to encourage a sporting spirit among the community and praise the bravery and strength of the navy in ancient times.
Various movies will be screened on site to entertain visitors, while folk music shows will also be held.
The village is located in Son Tay district, some 45km to the west of Hanoi.
