The publication of the books is part of a long-term project on translating Russian literature into Vietnamese and vice versa, which has been jointly carried out since 2012 under the patronage of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The publications include selected plays by Leo Tolstoy; a collection of Sergey Yesenin's Poems; Ivan's Daughter, Ivan's Mother by Valentin Rasputin; and Andrey Venhediktovich Fedorov's monograph "Fundamental Theories of Translation".
Addressing the event, Director of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, Natalia Shafinskaya, said that thanks to the translation team, Russian works are constantly being expanded, and more and more Vietnamese readers are getting access to Russian classics.
The translation of works by famous Russian authors into Vietnamese is a practical activity contributing to the flow of cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Russia and tightening the friendship between the two nations.
