The contest is an activity held within the project on "Conservation of Important Wetlands and Associated Habitats" (Wetlands Project) implemented by the Institute of Strategy, Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) in the province of Thua Thien Hue and Thai Binh. The project aims to increase stakeholders’ awareness of the roles and importance of wetland ecosystems.

Launched on July 16, the contest attracted 395 photos from more than 100 photographers.

Entries reflected the wetland ecosystems throughout the country, such as the beauty of wetland ecosystems; the species of animals/plants living in wetlands; and the activities and livelihoods of the communities in this area.
