Among the displays are nine recent paintings and sculptures by ta Quang Bao, Phan Thi Gia Huong, Nguyen Van Que, Co Tan Long Chau, Buu Chi, Le Nam and Do Son.
Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, and Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Le Khanh Hai, along with artists, photographers and writers, as well as visitors.
According to Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Le Khanh Hai, in 2016, 18 authors were awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize and 95 authors were awarded the State Prize in the fields of literature and art.
The State and Ho Chi Minh prizes are the highest honours conferred by the Party and State for outstanding works of art and literature with profound meaning and high artistic value that serve the revolutionary cause and contribute to the development of literature and arts.
The free entry exhibition, at the Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts, No. 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, will remain open until September 8.
