As part of activities under the framework of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF ASEAN) 2018, held in Hanoi from September 11 to 13, the ceremony was attended by Professor Klaus Schwab, who is the Founder and Executive Chairman of the WEF, and Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, who is head of the organising board of the WEF ASEAN 2018.

Expressing his pleasure at returning to Vietnam, Professor Klaus Schwab said that the publication of the book in Vietnamese, on the occasion of the WEF ASEAN 2018, aims to raise public awareness of the importance of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (also known as Industry 4.0), spreading a deeper understanding of the revolution.

The book has now been translated into 29 languages and has sold more than one million copies.

Professor Klaus Schwab expressed his hope that the book would be a catalyst for Vietnam to become a new element in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Talking about the contents of the book and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Professor Klaus Schwab said that the effects of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 on business models and socio-economic regions in the world cannot be underestimated.

Permanent Deputy Minister Bui Thanh Son, who oversaw the book’s translation into Vietnamese, expressed his thanks to Professor Klaus Schwab and the WEF for supporting Vietnam in the process of harnessing the opportunities of Industrial Revolution 4.0.
