Exhibition introduces Vietnamese land and people to Russians

A photo exhibition highlighting Vietnamese land, people, seas and islands opened in Moscow, Russia, on November 22 by Vietnam’s Ministry of of Information and Communications (MIC) in collaboration with Vietnamese Embassy in Russia.

Hundreds of photos and handicraft products being showcased at the exhibition are arranged into such major topics as Vietnamese seas and islands, Vietnam seen from the press, Vietnam – Russia relations, and Vietnamese cultural essence.

The exhibition also provides an overview on Vietnam’s revolutionary press, and significant milestones in Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership over recent years.

Works on display also include stamps depicting Vietnamese ethnic communities, Vietnamese tourist maps and picture books on Vietnamese natural landscapes and its people, among other press publications.

Addressing the event Nguyen Van Tao, director of the MIC’s Department of Grassroots Information, said the exhibition aims to advertise the image of a dynamic Vietnam, its people, as well as its development achievements and integration to international friends, including Vietnamese expatriates in Russia. It also seeks to encourage patriotism and national pride among expats.

Chargé d’affaires of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia Nguyen Quynh Mai expressed her hope that the exhibition will help to increase mutual understanding between peoples in the two countries, thereby enhancing friendship and strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.

MIC will present all exhibits to the Embassy after the exhibition concludes on November 25.
