The exhibits were selected from more than 1,500 entries sent to a photo contest launched by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA).

The contest attracted the participation of 216 photographers from six provinces in the region, including Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien - Hue.

The entries capture the natural beauty, cultural practices, and daily life of people in the north central region, while reflecting a number of pressing issues in modern society.

They also highlighted the achievements in economics, science and technology, social welfare, security and defence, and international integration made by the regional authorities and people.

The organising board presented one gold medal, two silver, three bronze and five consolation prizes to the most outstanding photos.
